World Book Day was on March 5, with children across the region taking part by choosing weird and wonderful costumes, inspired by their favourite fictional characters .
Thousands of children and families across Scarborough and Bridlington showed off their creativity with a host of marvellous costumes.
Here are only a few of the fantastic photos that have been submitted to us by readers.
