A family fundraiser event is to take place in Hinderwell in memory of villager June Mead, who died earlier this year following a battle with Ovarian cancer.

The event at Hinderwell Village Hall on Saturday November 4 will include a coffee morning, craft stalls, cake stalls, a bouncy castle and also offer people the chance to win football goodies donated by June’s daughter, England Lionesses footballer Beth Mead.

Among the items in the raffle and roulette are framed, signed England men’s football shirts and an Arsenal men’s shirt.

Beth Mead has just returned to action for her club side Arsenal ladies after 330 days out injured.

She came on as sub in the Gunners’ dramatic 2-1 win over Aston Villa, in which they netted both goals in injury time, and also made an appearance in the 2-1 win at Bristol City.
