IN PICTURES: Christmas tree exhibition at Whitby's St Mary's Church

Whitby’s historic clifftop church St Mary’s is once again welcoming visitors to have a look round its annual Christmas Tree Festival.

Visitors to the church can pop in from Sunday to Friday, 10am to 3pm and on Saturdays from 11.15am to 3pm to see the display of trees.

Photographer Richard Ponter went along to capture this lovely gallery of pictures.

St Mary’s is closed on Christmas Day except for the service at 11.15am.

Donations will be gratefully received.

The church may occasionally be temporarily closed for services.

The last day to see the trees will be Sunday January 4, 2026.
