Acorn Rabbit Rescue is a small establishment which was set up in 2020. The rescue tries to cover the East Coast area including Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough, as well as inland towns such as Driffield and Beverley.
They recognised that locally there is no rescue organisation specifically for rabbits and that other rescues give priority to dogs and cats. Spotting a need for a dedicated rescue for rabbits in the area, a small team organised the rescue which has grown year upon year.
They take in rabbits that are in need, or are unwanted by their owner whatever the reason, and care for them until a new, ‘fur-ever’ home can be found.
Acorn Rabbit Rescue don't rehome rabbits to live alone and wants prospective owners to be aware that rabbits need plenty of space to live comfortable and happy lives. All of the rescue’s rabbits are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before rehoming.
The rescue also ensures that prospective owners’ homes meet the Rabbit Welfare Association’s guidelines, visit here for more information.
Acorn Rabbit Rescue keep every animal in their care until the right loving home is found.

5. Cookie and Coco (2)
This brother and sister pair are both neutered and approximately 4 years old. Cookie and Coco were adopted from the rescue in 2021 and have been living indoors. Reluctantly, they have been returned to the rescue due to their owner's change in circumstances. Cookie is braver than his sister and will come to you for attention and loves his toys, Coco is shyer but likes attention on her own terms. They are neutered and vaccinated and would suit an indoor home with adults or a family with older/teenage children. They love their tunnels and hideouts, as well as also like going in their outdoor run in good weather. Photo: Acorn Rabbit Rescue

6. Dolly and Dixie
Females who are mother (Dolly) and daughter (Dixie) aged 3 and 2 years approximately. These rabbits came into care with Dot, Dora and Dan when their owner could no longer care for them. The rescue has been told that they are mother and daughter. They have been vaccinated and will be spayed before rehoming. At the moment they are both slightly nervous. The pair would suit an outdoor or indoor home with plenty of space and enrichment. Photo: Acorn Rabbit Rescue

7. Snowy
Snowy is a small male rabbit age 2 years approximately. He had been living outdoors with 2 guinea pigs before coming to the rescue as his owner had no time to care for him. He is a friendly boy with lots of energy. He would like a home where he can pair up with a small breed female rabbit. Snowy is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and could live indoors or outdoors. Photo: Acorn Rabbit Rescue

8. Bobby
Bobby is approximately 3 years old and is a small male rabbit. He came to the rescue when his owner could no longer care for him. He is a friendly rabbit who is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and needs a home where he can live with another neutered and vaccinated rabbit. Photo: Acorn Rabbit Rescue
