Cooplands’ much-loved Orchard Cafe on Newborough has reopened following the company’s return to local ownership.

Orchard Café officially reopened its doors on Friday January 30, welcoming customers back with favourites such as chips and gravy, and full English breakfast, along with some new menu additions to tantalise the taste buds.

A spokesperson for the popular bakery said: “We’ve tried to stay true to what was loved about Orchard Café, and have added a modern take so it appeals to new and old customers.

“To mark the reopening, the café will be serving its famous chips and gravy for just £2.50, giving customers the chance to enjoy a well-known Orchard Café favourite at an unbeatable price.”

Known for its hearty portions, comforting classics, and friendly atmosphere, The Orchard Café has long been a go to destination for traditional café food in Scarborough.

The reopening signals a return to what the café does best – simple, satisfying food served with warmth and care.

Sara McInnes Product and Customer Director said: “We’re really excited to welcome everyone back to the café. Our chips and gravy have always been a customer favourite, so it was not even a question that they had to be on the menu, and we’ve partnered it with some other great deals including a main meal with a hot drink for £10.

“We have moved things on, to make it a more useable space for the community, so you will find a Kids Corner so mums and dads can enjoy a well earned cuppa and a slice of cake while the kids play ‘shop’, as well as a specific dog friendly area for

those that want a delicious hot chocolate after a nice beach walk with their four-legged friend, as well as a quieter section for those that don’t have either of the above.”
