Due to the high winds and rain which battered the area with the arrival of Storm Darragh, a revised programme of events was put together prior to the annual event to ensure people’s safety, with some events moved indoors and one or two, such as the duck race, cancelled.
But Helen Lee, one of the organisers, was pleased with how the weekend went in the circumstances.
She said: “The wind started at the exact time Saturday’s events started and finished at the exact time Sunday’s events finished.
"The Friday went ahead as planned which was fabulous.
"We managed balls down the bank on Saturday and the weather came in about 20 minutes after.
"The indoor stuff all ran as scheduled.
"Footfall was impacted but a few brave souls battled their way up, determined to get to the next thing.
"We’re lucky that we had the village hall and could move bits and pieces about.
"The contingency plans worked and we will do it all again next year.
"So many events were cancelled at the weekend, but we’re lucky that we’ve got an amazing team of volunteers that will take the rough with the smooth, pitch in and help to make it work.”
Profits raised from the event are used to fund future events with surplus donated to local good causes.
