IN PICTURES: Scarborough looking like winter wonderland as first snow of 2026 falls along coast

Scarborough and the east coast was left looking like a winter wonderland as the first snowfall of 2026 arrived at the weekend.

While the weather caused travel disruption and has led to school closures this morning, others have enjoyed making snowmen and sledging.

Photographer Richard Ponter captured some of the scenes on camera.
