In pictures - Whitby's Boxing Day dippers brave the freezing North Sea

A large crowd turned out on Boxing Day morning to see a hardy bunch of dippers plunge into the chilly North Sea in the annual money-spinner for Whitby District Lions.

Sharks were spotted in the sea, mixing with Santa, reindeer - and even a turkey.
