'Inspiration to youth of today' - Whitby lad Isaac completes first marathon for charity
A determined 15-year-old from Whitby has completed a full marathon to raise money for the Whitby Hidden Impairments Support & Help (WHISH) charity, raising more than £2,500.
Isaac Harrison, a student at Whitby School, ran 26.2 miles from Scarborough Sea Life Centre to Whitby, cheered on by family, friends, and classmates who followed his progress online.

Isaac said: “I began training at the beginning of June, through summer, until October 28.
"I decided to raise the money for WHISH as a family friend’s little boy Barney, accessed WHISH and had started making massive milestone achievements.
"The money raised would allow me to make a positive impact and help as many local children as possible.”
His mum, Lucy Harrison, said: “This is one of the hardest things I have seen him do.
"It was heartbreaking, but inspiring to watch.
"It was an honour for myself and his dad, Matthew, to be alongside him every step of the way.
"He is an inspiration to the youth of today.
"He’s incredibly resilient and mentally strong, but he is also so incredibly thoughtful and kind and the fact that he’s done this for a charity that doesn’t benefit him, it benefits others, is a true testament to his character and kind heart.
Chairperson of WHISH, Steve Bremner, said: “We are deeply grateful for the dedication and hard work shown by Isaac in his achievement.
"It’s inspiring to see a young person take action to support others.
"His efforts will make a real difference to the young people we help.”
