'Inspiring’ friends raise £1,457 for Filey boy, 11, battling bone cancer
A group of boys from Filey have rallied around their close friend Archie, showing remarkable love and support after his osteosarcoma diagnosis.
Kai, Harry, Kaydon, Jenson and Cason braved the bracing November air and completed a sponsored walk from Filey to Reighton in full fancy dress,

Together they raised an incredible £1,457.08, which they hope will send their friend to Disneyworld, once his treatment has been completed.
A post on the Archie’s Cancer Journey Facebook page read: “The kindness, love and determination these boys have shown at such young ages is truly inspiring.

“They walked for their friend with huge smiles on their faces, and our hearts are so full.
“We ended the evening with delicious pizzas kindly donated by Chicken Express, followed by a chocolate fountain to celebrate their amazing achievement.
“We are unbelievably proud of each and every one of these boys, and we are so grateful as a family for the continued love and support surrounding Archie.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”

Archie has now begun chemotherapy in Leeds. His Aunt, Christina Makin, gave an update on his progress. She said: “He’s up and down, and very tired from the chemo.
"He’s a very active boy normally, and at the moment he’s very much housebound, so we’re trying to get him out as much as we can.”
