'Keep coast clean' plea after inflatable unicorn pulled from sea in Whitby

The team at Whitby RNLI are urging people to help keep the coast clean by taking their belongings home with them.

They posted on their Facebook page yesterday: "Today while training, the crew retrieved this inflatable unicorn from the harbour as well as some balloons out at sea.

"There has been a recent increase in littering within the harbour with crab buckets, rubbish and plastic all washing up on the shore and near the station.

"Please enjoy the beach but take your litter home with you.

"Keep Whitby clean and protect the marine wildlife."
