'May this year be one where hope rises again in your heart' - a new year message for Whitby area
The decorations are packed away, the lights have dimmed and the familiar warmth of Christmas seems to fade as quickly as it arrived.
We look back on the past year; its joys, its wounds, its unexpected turns… and we might wonder: is Christmas really over?

But the truth is far better than that.
Christmas was never meant to be a single day on the calendar.
Christ stepped into our broken world not for a season, but for a lifetime… God with us, in every ordinary moment, every quiet struggle, every new beginning.
Whether you hold deep faith, a flicker of belief, or none at all, it doesn’t take long; just a glance at the news, to see that our world is hurting.
It is fractured, weary, and longing for something more.
And yet, in the midst of all that brokenness, there is a hope that refuses to fade.
Hope has a name. His name is Jesus.
He is the steady light when the world feels dark.
He is the anchor when life feels uncertain.
He is the promise that we are never alone.
So, as we step into a new year…whatever it may hold; we do not step into it empty-handed.
We carry with us a hope that is stronger than fear, deeper than disappointment, and brighter than any darkness we may face.
May this year be one where hope rises again in your heart.
May peace find you, joy surprise you and grace carry you.
And may you discover, in ways big and small, that God is indeed with us still.
