Musician launches new book and CD in Bridlington and Robin Hood's Bay
Robin Hood’s Bay musician Rob Parker is launching his new book and 14-track CD in two forthcoming events.
Rob said: “Driving home from a meeting in September 2022, just days after Queen Elizabeth II had passed away, a line of lyrics came unexpectedly to mind: ‘Tears are falling, nation mourning, change is calling out into this day… but there is hope’.

“Those words marked the beginning of a three-year journey for me – a season of seeking, processing, writing, and recording that ultimately became both a book and a new 14-track album titled There Is Hope.”
Rob – who is married to the Rev Jo Parker - is delighted to share that this journey comes to its conclusion with the launch of both the book and CD at two special events:
♦ Christ Church, Bridlington — Sunday December 7, 6pm
♦ St Stephen’s Church, Robin Hood’s Bay — Saturday December 13, 3pm
At each event, Rob will be sharing songs with a full band and reading selected chapters from his book.
"My hope is that these gatherings will offer space for reflection, encouragement, and of course, hope.”
He is grateful for the kind words offered by the Right Rev Barry Hill, Bishop of Whitby, who shared this response to the project: “Rob’s words are marinated in love, care and creativity.
"Not a word is wasted.
"In both prose and song, the rich imagery he brings to mind evokes a world where colours are more vivid and emotions deeper—a world that looks like that which we pray for every time we seek ‘Your Kingdom come, on earth as in heaven’.
"Readers and listeners, however, would be wise not to confuse such evocation with platitudes.”
