New social get-together group 'Friday Friends 50+' starts in Eastfield
A series of friendly get-together sessions, sponsored by Proudfoot, have begun at More Than Books on the High Street in Eastfield.
The weekly sessions, which are held each Friday until the end of March (with the exception of half-term), feature a host of activities including quizzes, a games afternoon and ‘make and take’ sessions.

A spokesperson for More Than Books said: "Proudfoot Supermarkets, through their Making A Difference Locally Charity, gave us the opportunity create a series of relaxed sessions for people aged 50+ that feel easy to join, friendly, and genuinely enjoyable.
"The idea is simple: come along when something catches your eye, try something new, have a chat, or just sit with a cuppa.
“There’s no pressure to commit, no expectations, and no need to be “good” at anything. These sessions are about people first. If you wish to come to all, that would be amazing too.
“Each week offers something a bit different - games, creative activities, gentle movement, and time to talk - all in a warm, welcoming space.
“You can dip in and out as you like.
“Free drinks are available and possibly cake at some of the sessions.
“If any of it sounds like your kind of thing, you’d be very welcome to join in."
