Pickering trainee teacher Nicholas Harper took his own life, inquest rules
Trainee teacher Nicholas Harper died after taking his own life, an inquest has concluded.
The 50-year-old runner from Pickering had been missing for seven months before his body was found in woodland near Cowhouse Bank car park, Helmsley, on Septmeber 7 2019.
His wife Rachel had launched various appeals to find him after he failed to arrive at his workplace in York after leaving his home address on the morning of February 7.
Although his car was found near Cowhouse Bank car park in April, his body wasn’t recovered until police received a report from a member of the public in September.
At the inquest in Northallerton on January 9, assistant coroner for North Yorkshire Jonathan Heath recorded a verdict of suicide.
