Police appeal as Georgia, 21, dies six weeks after crash near Filey

A young woman has died six weeks after a crash near Filey.

Georgia Porter, 21, was driving a dark Sym Chacha moped when she was involved in a collision with a blue Volkswagen Beetle on the A165 at the junction with the A1039 King Hill near Muston on August 29.

She was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries but died last week, on October 12.

The woman driving the Beetle was uninjured.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw either of the vehicles before the collision or who witnessed the incident, including anyone who has dash-cam footage, to get in touch.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 12200151082 or email [email protected].

An online fundraiser has been launched to raise funds for Georgia's funeral.

The webpage has already surpassed its £4,000 target, raising more than £5,000.

A message on the site says: "Georgia was a bright and beautiful, caring, spirit-filled young lady with a bright future ahead of her."
