Rocker Robert Plant and Saving Grace announce Scarborough Open Air Theatre gig
Legendary musician Robert Plant is heading to Scarborough Open Air Theatre in summer 2027 with roots-folk band Saving Grace and Suzi Dian.
Following the release of the acclaimed Saving Grace: All That Glitters… EP last month and fresh back from a run of US dates, they will bring the Roots & Branch tour to Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Saturday June 26.

They will be joined by special guests award-winning folk stars Kate Rusby and Seth Lakeman.
Tickets go on sale via scarboroughopenairtheatre.com and ticketmaster.co.uk at 10am on Friday November 6.

Plant’s critically-acclaimed Saving Grace: All That Glitters... is out now digitally on Nonesuch Records.
The EP, previously released on vinyl for Record Store Day, follows Plant’s 2025 critically acclaimed album, Saving Grace; both feature singer Suzi Dian and a band of musicians from the English countryside that Plant calls home.
The EP’s four tracks further explore the folk and Americana songs that Plant and the band love: the traditional tunes The Blackest Crow and Two Coats, Gillian Welch’s Orphan Girl, and Bert Jansch’s Poison.
This group of distinguished musicians – vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown – explore the evolution of roots music both vintage and modern.

The band members were drawn together by a shared love of roots music – blues, folk, gospel, country, and the sounds that lay in between.
Saving Grace began at Plant’s home on the Welsh borders in 2019; this new collective of like-minded collaborators had been experimenting for barely a year, even serving as an unheralded opening act on a handful of dates for Fairport Convention, when the pandemic intervened and any formal plans were temporarily shelved.
Once protocols permitted, Plant and Saving Grace began to record informally in a barn setup or outdoors, then booked themselves in small venues without fanfare.
Earlier this year Plant was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Americana Music Association Awards.
The tour will kick off at the prestigious Hampton Court Palace Festival.
Returning to her Yorkshire roots for this show, Kate Rusby is widely regarded as one of England’s finest folk singers, renowned for her crystal-clear voice and beautifully crafted interpretations of traditional songs alongside her own acclaimed compositions.
She has captivated audiences around the world with her warmth, humour and unmistakable voice, with her albums winning a string of BBC Radio 2 awards and her music featuring in numerous TV programmes and films.
Seth Lakeman was catapulted into the music mainstream when he was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2005 for his album Kitty Jay. His follow up was the gold-selling Freedom Fields – which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.
Multiple albums, tours and high-profile collaborations later, the acclaimed folk artist released his latest studio album The Granite Way in 2025 recorded alongside a group of longtime collaborators and referring to ancient stories that inspired his early West Country storytelling.
Julian Murray of promoters Cuffe and Taylor, venue programmers at Scarborough OAT, said: “Robert Plant is one of the most influential and distinctive voices of British music so to be welcoming him to Scarborough to perform with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian presents a very special opportunity for live music fans.
“2027 is shaping up to be another exciting year on the Yorkshire coast and we can’t wait.”
Robert Plant with Saving Grace and Suzi Dian is the latest artist announced for 2027 at Scarborough OAT which will also see headline shows from Shania Twain, Kings of Leon, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, Bananarama, Alex Warren, Kaiser Chiefs, Alfie Boe, Ronan Keating, Jack Savoretti and James Morrison and Simply Red.
