Attendees also heard moving musical performances from local singer Neisha Morris, whose songs between the hymns and prayers added a poignant and uplifting touch to the service.

The gathering brought together staff from Saint Cecilia’s Care Group, G Roberts Funeral Directors, their families, and members of the wider community, highlighting the importance of shared remembrance and the strength of local support networks.

Mr Padgham said: “Covid had a profound impact on so many families in our community, and particularly within health and social care.

“This service offers a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect and remember those we lost, while also recognising the incredible resilience and compassion shown by NHS staff, care workers and the wider community.

"We hope people will join us for this important moment of reflection and hope.”

Throughout the pandemic, care providers, funeral directors, NHS teams and community organisations worked tirelessly to support local people during an unprecedented period.

The Covid Reflection Service aims to acknowledge that collective effort and provide a space for shared remembrance.
