Scarborough Funeral Directors hold fundraising memorial service in honour of lost loved ones
Donations raised at this year’s Annual Memorial Service have now been passed on to two local charities, Safe and Sound Homes Scarborough (SASH) and The Thalia-Beau Foundation, following a week of fundraising and community support.
The Annual Memorial Service is held especially for families who have been cared for by G Roberts Independent Family Funeral Directors, offering them a dedicated opportunity to come together in remembrance of loved ones.

The service provides a space for reflection, comfort, and shared support, and has become an important date in the calendar for many local families.
Funds were raised through a combination of a charity raffle and donations from members of the congregation, with the total further enhanced by matched funding from the company.
While the service is rooted in remembrance, it also serves a wider purpose by supporting charities that make a meaningful difference within the local community.
Now in its thirteenth year, the Annual Memorial Service has raised more than £6,000 for a wide range of local charities. Previous beneficiaries have included St Catherine’s Hospice, the RNLI, Scarborough Survivors, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and Dementia Forward — organisations that provide vital care, support, and emergency services across the region.
Organisers say the service reflects a unique part of their role within the community and highlights their ongoing commitment to care beyond the funeral itself.
G Roberts Independent Family Funeral Directors have been proud to serve local families since 1986, and the Annual Memorial Service continues to bring together remembrance, compassion, and community support.
