Scarborough honours the fallen at Oliver’s Mount
A moving Service of Remembrance, organised by the Royal British Legion Scarborough Branch, took place at the Oliver’s Mount Memorial on Sunday, November 9.
A large crowd gathered at the service, led by the Rev Sam Tredwell, to honour the fallen.
Those in attendance included serving personnel, veterans and their Associations, cadets, and members of the community.
The Parade of Standards and wreath-laying were led by Andrew Pindar OBE DL, RBL Scarborough Vice President Paul Southern, Alison Hume MP, Scarborough Town Council Mayor Cllr Thomas Murray, RBL Scarborough Chairman Mathew O’Brien and community representatives.
Scarborough Spa provided the sound system and accompanying hymn music and National Anthem.
The Acts of Remembrance were poignantly accompanied by Harold Moxon of the Salvation Army who came out of retirement to play The Last Post and Reveille.
