Scarborough Theatre Company and its founder and director Alex Weatherhill are dreaming of a white Christmas and it needs you to help its wish come true.

They are calling on local businesses, community partners and individuals to help bring an ambitious production of White Christmas to the stage at Scarborough Spa next month.

The festive classic promises stunning choreography, lighting design and a live orchestra but to make this dream a reality, they need your support.

"The production not only celebrates the holiday season but also champions the work of local artists,” said professional performer and musical director Alex, who lives in Speeton.

“Scarborough Theatre Company has engaged a diverse team of local creatives, including a choreographer, lighting designer, and a sound and lighting team,” he said.

“By sponsoring White Christmas, local businesses or patrons will be directly supporting Scarborough’s arts community and helping these artists share their skills with a wide audience.

“White Christmas is one of our most ambitious projects yet, and it is only possible with the help of our community,” said Alex who is directing the show.

If you add £100 to either package or donate it as an arbitrary sum, Alex will do a sponsored social media post mentioning you/your company and thanking you for supporting the production.

White Christmas will be staged in the Grand Hall at Scarborough Spa from Friday December 20 to Sunday December 22.

The production follows last year’s successful run of Elf the Musical and this year’s Kinky Boots.

It will be choreographed by local star Adam Crossley, who is returning to his roots after completing the international tour of School of Rock.

Adam, who grew up in Scarborough and began his performing arts journey here, is excited to bring his expertise and passion for dance back to the local stage.

Returning to Scarborough to work on White Christmas is a dream come true," said Adam. “I’m really looking forward to choreographing this classic musical. Scarborough is a hub for creative talent and I’m excited to meet everyone who comes to audition. White Christmas will be the perfect show to get everyone in the festive spirit,” he said.
