Stunning photos of Scarborough sparkling in the Easter holiday sunshine

Temperatures reached a high of 19°, bringing hundreds of visitors to the Yorkshire coast to enjoy the seaside.

Ice creams were ordered, sand castles were built and people even dipped in the chilly sea. Photographer Richard Ponter went along to capture the fun, showing Scarborough looking beautiful as it defrosts fully into spring.
