The Big Day Out at Scarborough Castle took place on May 24 in the middle of a heatwave which brought beautiful blue skies and sunshine to the Yorkshire coast. Part of the annual festival Big Ideas By The Sea (BIBTS), Scarborough Castle hosted a fun and family-friendly event.
There day featured music, mini-digs for budding archaeologists, drop- storytelling, hands-on ecological sculpture making and even a visit from The VIth VICTRIX Roman Legion.
Smiling families ready to learn descended on the historic site, enjoying the entertainment as well as the picturesque views. This event was held in collaboration with English Heritage and is part of the Scarborough 400 celebrations.
