Staff at Tesco Burniston Express have been donating items to various groups in the Scarborough area.

The outstanding work by the team at the Tesco Burniston Express has been highlighted following its support to local groups.

Store manager Robert Stancliffe said team members Rob, Katie, Jordan, Kristen and Lisa have been working with local charities such as the Rainbow Centre to donate all unused stock each night.

Mr Stancliffe said: “We have supported Scarborough Community Kitchen, creating a collection point in store for customers to donate groceries.

“We also gave the kitchen a £30 free shop to top up on various items.

“Donations from the store of baked goods, muffins, breads and baguettes were all used by the charity to provide meals for the local community.

“We delivered sweet treat packages to both Scarborough Hospital and St Catherine’s staff to thank them for their hard work, especially for all the dedication they have shown over the lockdown.

“Items were given to the staff on all wards of the hospital and at St Catherine’s.”
