Tributes paid to former Scarborough Borough Councillor John Warburton
Tributes have been paid to former Scarborough Borough Councillor John Warburton, who has died at the age of 81.
Mr Warburton was elected to Scarborough Borough Council on two occasions, the first time in 2003 as a Labour member for Ramshill, and later, in 2015, to represent Eastfield.

Mr Warburton spent his working life as a teacher in Scarborough, where he taught both Maths and Biology.
He met wife-to-be Lattie in Thailand and the couple married on January 20, 2008.
He was a good table tennis player and enjoyed running.
Former Mayor of Scarborough Eric Broadbent paid tribute to Mr Warburton, saying “John was a good friend of mine.
"He was very passionate about the local community and always had Scarborough at his heart.
"He was a pillar of society, and a well-respected man, he’ll be sadly missed.”
Mr Warburton is survived by his wife Lattie, adopted daughter Moke, and step-children Joseph and Josephine.
