Vantage Motors hand food donations to Scarborough’s Rainbow Centre
Vantage Motor Group have handed over a large donation of food and other items gathered by their staff and customers during December.
The donations were collected by Rainbow Centre manager Trish Kinsella who met with centre principle Peter Stableford & senior service advisor Maggie McLeod to receive the donation.
Andrew Parker, Aftersales Manager said: “As a group across Yorkshire we have been collecting food this month to support each site's nominated food bank and to give back to the communities that have also supported us.
“Scarborough have chosen this year to support The Rainbow Centre and donations have come from both staff and customers who responded to the call for action.”
“Trish was astonished at the quantity that had been donated. She said she hadn’t expected so much.
“Although we felt it was a drop in the ocean, Trish pointed out that each drop (donation) makes that ocean!”
The food will prove a big help to the Rainbow Centre who this year plan to feed over 2000 residents of Scarborough during the Christmas period.
Peter Stableford said: “It has been so rewarding to contribute to such a worthy cause and really make a difference to help those in need of these food donations.
“No one should go hungry at Christmas time and so it was important for us to do our bit to help the local community.
“We want to say a big thank you to all the customers and team members who so generously donated.
“The support we had for ‘The Vantage Food Bank Project’ was incredible and every single donation was gratefully received by The Rainbow Centre, Scarborough. ”
