It was the fifth week of the Clap For Our Carers campaign which encourages people across the UK to applaud the health service and its staff and all key workers.

Scarborough residents joined in as tens of thousands of people across the country clapped from their doorsteps, balconies or windows.

As this video shows, for another week the Old Town rang out in applause, the sound of pots and pans and even fireworks.

The Scarborough News joins everyone across the town and further afield to thank all of our key workers putting themselves at risk so we can stay at home.
