Whitby coastguard Rob Parkin recognised for 30 years of service

Whitby Coastguard Rescue Officer Rob Parkin has been awarded a long service and good conduct medal for his 30 years of service.

Station Officer for the coastguard team, William Cook, said: "Rob's 30 years of service is a major achievement.

"Over those three decades, Rob has attended callouts at all hours of the day and night to help those in difficulty along our coast - this is a commitment which cannot be underestimated.

"Through his long service and dedication, Rob has become synonymous with the coastguard in Whitby and is held in the highest regard.

"He continues to be a key member of the team thanks to his vast experience, unrivalled skills and knowledge both of the job and the area and I would like to congratulate Rob and thank him for his service so far. "

Senior Coastal Operations Officer Steve Hart added: “HM Coastguard would like to thank Rob for his 30 years service, dedication and commitment he has given and so far.
