Whitby Folk Week postponed until 2021
This year’s Whitby Folk Week has been postponed until 2021.
A statement from the event's organisers said the decision was made with a heavy heart that, due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
"As you can imagine, this has not been an easy decision, but we felt that the health and safety of everyone involved, ticket holders, volunteer stewards, artists across music, song, dance, and storytelling, and of course our lovely Whitby venues, had to take priority.
"We are currently in the process of contacting everyone involved, and all season ticket holders, so please bear with us as this may take some time.
"We love Whitby Folk Week and hope that, with your support, we’ll be back bigger and better next year. With that in mind, we are asking season ticket holders, if at all possible, to roll their tickets over to 2021. "
Folk Week would have run from August 21 to 27.
If you haven’t as yet bought a ticket, and want to help keep the festival alive, the 2021 ticket form is now online - click here.
The 2020 early bird price will be in place until April 30.
