Whitby Hospital staff thank community for support

Staff at Whitby Hospital have issued a message of thanks to members of the community who have gone out of their way to support them during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kelly Scott, an Urgent Care Practitioner who works in the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) and also on the wards, said in a message on Facebook: “On behalf of Whitby MIU and Hospital staff we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all that have donated to the hospital, it really is appreciated by us all!”

In the post she listed some of those who have contributed to the hospital including:

- Sarah Thompson who donated wash bags.

- Barbara Raw who gave delicious scones.

- Lizzie Elwick who delivered gorgeous cakes.

- Donna McCarthy who brought hand cream.

- John Wheeler who supplied acrylic mask holders.

- The Blitz who provided gorgeous meals.

- Carol Dobson and Connor Lunn’s mum who made knitted mask extenders.

Kelly said they have received so many donations that they have been able to share them with other units within the hospital All of which have been gratefully received by her colleagues. She finished by saying: “We’re lucky folks !! Can’t thank you enough xx stay safe xx “
