Whitby RNLI to host private naming ceremony for Shannon class boat Lois Ivan

Whitby RNLI has revealed that the naming ceremony of its Shannon class lifeboat RNLB 13-49 Lois Ivan will take place on Saturday June 1.

The launch a memory lifeboat was funded by a generous legacy from Ivan Stone and his late partner, Lois.

Mr Stone left a donation in his will which funded the all-weather lifeboat and requested that it be named after himself and his partner.

The ceremony will take place at Whitby Bandstand and is open to invited guests only, due to limited space.
