Whitby's Eskdale Festival of the Arts calling for more stewards to get involved

The final stages of planning for this year’s Eskdale Festival are under way.

In a fresh update from the team working hard behind the scenes, they say: “The hard part is done and now we can celebrate the joy of the arts together.

"We can’t wait to see all the wonderful performers join us at the Pavilion Theatre in Whitby in just a few weeks’ time.”

The committee has met to discuss final arrangements for the festival – counting out medals and certificates, organising rehearsals with the official accompanist and discussing stewarding slots.

Appeal for stewards

The Eskdale Festival of the Arts is on the lookout for stewards.

By volunteering as a steward, you become part of the friendly team that keeps the festival welcoming, relaxed and running smoothly.

A simple commitment, it would involve a minimum of a morning or afternoon shift over the two-week festival.

Stewards will meet excited young performers, experience the talents of wonderful musicians, dancers and actors and meet fellow volunteers – and help support an event that started in the 1900s.

No special experience needed - just a smile and a bit of time.

Full training will be given.

Contact the festival on [email protected] to volunteer and for more information.

The committee thanks the volunteer team for giving up their time and energy that goes into making the festival a success.
