Whitby's Jubilee House celebrates ‘Good’ CQC rating with afternoon tea party
Staff, residents and the community enjoyed a special afternoon tea party at Jubilee House Nursing Home, following the home’s achievement of being rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The celebration marked a significant milestone for Jubilee House, which was recently acquired by family-owned Saint Cecilia’s Care Group.
Since joining the group, Saint Cecilia’s has invested heavily in improving the quality of care, refurbishing facilities, and creating a warm environment for residents and staff alike.
The Mayor of Whitby, Cllr Sandra Turner, joined residents, staff, and guests for the event, taking time to chat with everyone and share in the celebrations.

Cllr Turner said: “It was a pleasure to visit Jubilee House and meet the wonderful residents and staff.
"The home has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere, a real home from home and it’s clear that everyone here works very hard to provide the best possible care.
"I was very impressed by what I saw.”
The Jubilee House team and residents celebrated with a classic afternoon tea featuring home-made cakes, sandwiches, and refreshments.

Residents and visitors also got to enjoy some live music, while sharing stories of life at Jubilee House.
Aaron Padgham, Managing Director of Saint Cecilia’s Care Group, praised the team.
“We are absolutely delighted that Jubilee House has received a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC.
"This result is a testament to the dedication and compassion of our amazing staff team.
"Since bringing Jubilee House into the Saint Cecilia’s family, we’ve made significant investment to enhance the home’s environment and ensure residents receive the highest standards of care.
"This rating shows that the hard work is paying off.”
