WWII RAF Veteran, Bill Simmonds, celebrates 100th Birthday at Montrosa, Scarborough
On Friday December 5, family, friends and fellow veterans gathered at Montrosa Home on Esplanade Rd to celebrate the 100th birthday of Bill Simmonds.
Mr Simmonds is a distinguished WWII RAF veteran whose service and spirit continue to inspire all who know him.
He was honoured with a personal card of congratulations from King Charles III and Queen Camilla, marking this extraordinary milestone.
He also received his Veterans Badge with certificate, along with a beautifully framed letter of congratulations from Scarborough’s Royal British Legion, recognising his service and his century of life.
The celebration was further enriched by the presence of the local RAF Air Cadets, who proudly supported Mr Simmonds on his special day, together with members of the RAF Association, joining to pay tribute to one of their own.
Royal British Legion president Tom Fox said: “A heartfelt thank you goes to the entire Montrosa team, whose care, kindness, and attention to detail helped make Bill’s day truly memorable.
“Here’s to Bill — 100 years of courage, character, and community.”
