Maggie Fawcett, 56, entered National Accident Helpline’s #ReclaimMyTime competition with a photo which showed how she would reclaim the 15 hours that the average UK adult wastes on cold calls and emails every year.

She said: “I decided that I would use the time to have a pamper session because the phone always rings either when I am having a relaxing soak in the bath or when I have just put a face pack on.

“As I work as a Community Midwife, I am often on call for births and I always answer my phone in case it is urgent – or it could be someone in labour!

“So I get out of the bath to answer the phone, and then when I return the water is cold or my face pack is smudged or has set like concrete and then the moment is lost!”

Maggie’s runner up prize was £100 towards her pampering session.

She added: “I will use the money to treat myself to a pamper session at my local spa in Helmsley which has an outdoor heated pool, hot tub, sauna where I can have treatments galore, and mobile phones are banned from the public areas.

“I am really looking forward to treating myself!”
