A Christmas message from the Chairman of East Riding of Council
Here is a special Christmas message from Councillor Liam Dealtry, the chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Councillor Dealtry said: “As we approach the festive season, I would like to wish all residents of the East Riding a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
"This is a season for togetherness – a time to share laughter, kindness, and those special moments that make lasting memories.
"Whether you’re gathered around the table, enjoying festive lights, or simply taking time to rest, I hope your Christmas is filled with warmth and joy.
“I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributes to making the East Riding such a wonderful place to live – from volunteers and community groups to local businesses and our dedicated council staff. Your efforts make a real difference every day.
“As we look ahead to the New Year, let us hold on to hope. Whatever challenges may come, we can face them together – with compassion, resilience, and a shared commitment to making the East Riding a place where every family feels supported and valued.
“On behalf of the council, I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a bright, hopeful New Year.”
