Bar next to Scarborough Station applies for extended Christmas Eve opening hours

A bar and function room next to Scarborough’s railway station has applied to extend its opening hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Oscar’s bar, located at 75-76 Westborough in Scarborough, has applied for later opening hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and to amend its licence restrictions regarding the playing of music.

If Adam Jowett’s application is approved, the business would be permitted to extend its opening hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve to 2.30am.

Its licence currently provides for opening hours from 7am to midnight on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

The council’s website states: “Not to be less than 28 days, starting on the day after the application was given to the Licensing Authority.

"The application record and register may be viewed by prior appointment during normal office hours at the above address.

“It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application punishable on summary conviction by an unlimited fine.”
