Whitby's Captain Cook Museum to hold exclusive evening for volunteer recruitment
Are you passionate about history and looking for a meaningful way to contribute?
Whitby’s Captain Cook Memorial Museum on Grape Lane, is hosting a special evening designed exclusively for those interested in volunteering at the attraction, a unique opportunity to connect, learn and get involved.

Begin the evening, on Friday, July 3, with a warm welcome from the Chairman of the Management Committee and the Volunteers Coordinator, followed by an exclusive guided tour of the museum.
Step into history with a short introduction to our 2026 exhibition, Imagined Geographies and First Encounters, presented by Exhibitions Officer Chris Needham in the attic - the very room where Captain Cook once lodged.
Hear from current volunteers as they share their experiences, and enjoy a relaxed evening with wine and nibbles while exploring the many ways you can get involved.
This event has limited capacity to ensure a personalised experience for all attendees.
It is on from 6.30pm to 8.30/9pm.
