Power cuts affecting properties in YO11 and YO12 postcodes

Northern Powergrid have confirmed they are aware of an unplanned power cut in YO11, YO12, YO14, YO17, YO4 and YO42 postcode areas.

It is affecting approximately 510 properties and has been caused by an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve the area.

The firm said: "We are currently working hard to restore power however we are unable to provide an accurate restoration time. Please call us on 105 if you have any specific questions."

It is estimated power will be restored by 11:30am.

The power cut was reported at 9:55am.
