Powerboats roaring into South Bay
Scarborough's seafront is full of the sound of horsepower today as the P1 Powerboats are back in town.
The powerboat racing was postponed yesterday due to sea swelling but conditions have picked up today with races taking place this afternoon for the P1 Dale Power Solutions Yorkshire Grand Prix of the Sea.
A race organiser said: “Boats have been out practicing this morning and we can’t wait to get started. It is the first race of the season and to have to postpone was not ideal but today is a glorious day in Scarborough and crowds have gathered in numbers for a great day of racing.
“We love being in Scarborough and hopefully it will be a fantastic day for everyone with lots happening for spectators to watch and do.”
Here is a line-up of what is coming to Scarborough seafront today (May 15).
