Rotary spices up funds drive for St Catherine's

Pickering Rotary Club has teamed up with Spice4U Indian restaurant to raise money for Saint Catherine's Hospice.

Around 140 diners ate their way through a selection of different curries to support the hospice.

St Catherine’s provides specialist care across 1,600 square miles including, Ryedale, Scarborough, Whitby and East Yorkshire.

Luke Arnold, president of the Pickering club, said: “I am delighted that such a large number of people attended what is now an annual event in the Rotary calendar.

“The hospice is such a great cause and we are delighted to have raised £1,450 for them.”

Margaret Middlebrook, a trustee from the hospice, said: “I am thrilled to have participated in this fantastic fundraiser with delicious food and good company.

“A huge thank you on behalf of Saint Catherine’s to Spice 4U and Pickering Rotarians for raising much-needed funds for us. You are fantastic.”
