Scarboro' musician'splans for feature film

Dave Lowe wrote the classic themes for more than seventy of the most popular Atari and Amiga games of the 1980s and 1990s, such as Elite II Frontier and Elite III and Afterburner.

Back then, there was simply no way of making his tunes sound the way he had envisioned them. But last year, thanks to backing from subscribers to a Kickstarter fund, he was finally able to fulfil his greatest ambition.

He went into the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London to record the Elite II Frontier Main and Second themes with a 50-piece orchestra.

Dave explains: “I always had a clear idea of how these tunes could sound if they were played by a real orchestra. And to record it at Abbey Road – well, that was my dream come true!”

Along with his daughter Lucy, Dave is now looking at producing a feature film of the event, again funded by donors on Kickstarter.

The project has already attracted half the £8,000 needed to complete it.
