Scarborough and Ryedale rescue team called to injured cyclists

The air ambulance was called to help an injured cyclist during one of two call-outs for Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team at the weekend.

Rescuers were called by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to help an injured cyclist at Ravenscar on Saturday at 11.10am.

Twelve team members helped move the cyclists from the accident into the waiting air ambulance.

Later, whilst returning from the morning call-out, the team were called to a second injured cyclist on the outskirts of West Ayton at about 1pm.

The rescue team provided casualty care on arrival and kept the injured cyclist warm before handing over to paramedics.
