The Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team volunteers were called to help the 10-year-old who had injured his back on a path running down from Bridestones at 4.12pm on Saturday.

Paramedics had also been called and needed the rescue team to help get the boy to the car park.

Thirteen volunteers and two team vehicles were deployed and they transferred him onto a vacuum mattress and bell stretcher to take him to a waiting ambulance.
