Stabbing update: One arrest made

The 26-year-old victim, from Scarborough, was found in the Trafalgar Square area of the town at 9.50pm

He had received multiple stab wounds to his chest, stomach and back in the incident, which is believed to have taken place at a property in Kealia Court in Wooler Street

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and has been released on bail whilst Police continue their enquiries.

"No arrest has been made in relation to the stabbing.

"We would appeal to any witnesses who may have seen the injured victim travelling between Kealia Court, Wooler Street and Trafalgar Square in Scarborough on the evening of Friday 18 March 2016, to contact 101 and ask to speak to Scarborough Serious Crime Team."
