
The band, who have notched up six number one albums, were preceded by support acts Atlantic Machine and the very impressive Circa Waves.
Then, on a warm, balmy night, the Welshmen launched into a lengthy set of classic songs including Local Boy in the Photograph, I Wanna Get Lost With You, The Bartender and the Thief, Handbags and Gladrags, Just Looking, Maybe Tomorrow and Have a Nice Day.
A runway off the main stage meant the band could get closer to the audience, with drummer Jamie Morrison having a second drum kit on the end of the runway, used to full effect with a stunning drum solo on Mr and Mrs Smith, the penultimate encore.
And the closing song was the epic, anthemic Dakota, rounding off a great night for Scarborough.
