Donations from students, staff and the Student Union shop were placed on the bed, and were augmented by Tesco which generously gave goods from its Westwood store, before the students made their way to the Rainbow Centre.

Si Hernandez, vice president of the campus Students Union, said: “They do a lot of good and it’s nice to support a local charity.”
