Mister Chips

A great place this . No pretensions and fish and chips with all the traditional additions : bread and butter ; tea or coffee . Mr Chips does do other more sophisticated food but if you want the traditional dish this is where you will find it . It's not expensive and it has a good reputation . Service is cheerful and efficient and it was just what I needed after arriving wet through . Photo: Google Maps

Abbey Wharf

Lovely food in really nice surroundings- and also really helpful with out 11 month old! Really nice setting looking over the Harbour at Whitby, My wife had Fish and Chips and I had a burger.
Portions were generous and the food tasted great- was also good value for what we got.
The ladies who served us were very friendly and took the time to chat with us and also to interact with our rather excitable 11 month old- and provide a high chair..... Photo: Louise Perrin

Very good fish and chips. Would definitely go back. Batter perfectly judged and chips taste like proper chips - a rare thing it seems! Ask for scraps ;-) Photo: Richard Ponter

The Marine

We love this place, it never fails to delight, we have just returned from another Whitby break and we ate at the Marine on 3 separate occasions.
On each occasion we chose a different meal, ie fresh crab, fresh lobster, fish pie, Cod & Chips, each meal was faultless.
We look forward to our next visit, it's great this place exists, it's head & shoulders above the rest in Whitby xx
