The first world Jam Festival which was to be held in Helmsley later this year has been cancelled.

The new weekend event was scheduled to be held in the Walled Garden in the North Yorkshire town in September.

Organisers hope the festival will go ahead from September 11 to 12 next year.

The festival was the brainchild of Anna Lupton, owner of Carr House Farm Bed and Breakfast at Ampleforth.

Entries for the eight categories of the World Jam Awards will re-open in May 2021.
