A64 remains closed westbound near York after serious collision
The A64 near York remains closed westbound after an earlier serious collision.
The road between the A1036 (York) and A19 (Fulford) junction was closed in both directions from around 5am to just after 10am following the serious road traffic collision.
The eastbound carriageway has now been reopened but road is expected to remain closed westbound for some time as North Yorkshire Police conduct an investigation.
Highways England say westbound traffic is being diverted and motorists should exit at the A1237 and follow yellow diamond symbol diversion route along the road north of York to rejoin the A64.
Traffic delays remain in the area with Highways England reporting approximately 2.5 miles of congestion on approach and saying the diversion route is slow moving.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead.
